Senior School Mathematics

On Monday 29th April, Year 8 visited the Science Museum in London and uncovered the hidden secrets of Mathematics in a way many of the students had not looked at it before. The purpose of the visit is to enable the girls to visit the Mathematics: The Winton Gallery as well as experience the hands-on Wonderlab, a Science Show and visit other areas of the museum. Lottie Giles, reflects on the visit below:

“The Science Museum was great, there was an array of different fun activities and exhibits for us to interactively explore. One of our favourite exhibits was the Wonderlab, we were allowed to go around and explore all kinds of different things. A highlight was learning about dry ice, it is always exciting to learn about something new.

“In the Wonderlab there were also slides which I enjoyed, it created a fun way for us to learn about the effects friction. Another very enjoyable exhibit was Engineering your Future, we all got to play on ‘video game’, which put our team work and problem solving skills to the test. The Science Museum overall was a wonderful experience, which put fun and learning together perfectly.”
