Sarah Pepper and Licia Cacioppo (Year 7)

Last Friday, 48 very excited Year 7 pupils travelled to sunny le Touquet in France. As soon as we departed the coach, we felt the bright sun and cool breeze hit our faces, and we knew it was going to be a trip to remember.

The magic started at Naturpom, a small museum about the balance of nature, animals and trees. We were shown how to prevent the spoiling of the fruit, and then the process involved when making apple juice. Before tasting a few samples, of course.

In the evening, after dinner at the youth hostel, we went for a lovely long walk along the beach. Including burying a couple of unlucky girls in the sand all the way up to their faces!

The next morning, we visited the markets in le Touquet, where we asked the locals some questions about their business here in le Touquet. They were very friendly and patient, which was definitely appreciated. After the  visiting the markets, we enjoyed a lovely sandwich from a local bakery. Next, we visited the old and new town of Boulogne and were treated to a yummy Ice cream, whilst answering some history-themed questions in our booklets.

When we visited the new part of town, we were allowed to look around some of the shops there. In the evening, we enjoyed bowling; let’s just say it got pretty competitive...

The next morning, after packing our bags a, we set of to the sweet factory in Boulogne where we watched a display of our favourite sweets being made. We sampled the sweets and got to take some home.

We then went to the supermarket, where everyone purchased last minute gifts for themselves and their family. I think it’s safe to say that we thoroughly enjoyed the trip and would be keen to come back soon!
