The annual Lord-Lieutenant's Trophy competition was held on 23rd June at the Bedfordshire Golf Club. Over 100 club members, both male and female contested for the trophy.

In the history of the event never had a female won until this year, when Roisin Scanlon (Year 6) was crowned the new 2019 champion.

The event is unique in that it does not have a trophy but rather a historical sword, which was presented to Roisin by Helen Nellis, the Lord-Lieutenant of Bedfordshire (the Queen’s representative in Bedfordshire).

Roisin was subsequently 'Knighted' by Helen as part of the tradition of this event. Roisin hopes this win will inspire other girls and women to enter more mixed gender events.
