Whole School Careers

Krishnaa Parmar (Year 10)

Last Thursday, the Careers department were delighted to welcome Mrs Suzanne Perkin for its final Lunchbox Lecture of the Summer Term.

A career spanning 20 years, including five years in the admissions team at the University of California, Santa Barbara, Suzanne gave an inspiring presentation to girls from Years 9 upwards about the university and college admissions process in America.

As she had worked in the admissions office, she was able to give great feedback and pointers for the future. She informed us about the variety of different subjects and classes you could take at an American university instead of just focusing on one.

She gave us an insight about how the application process was different from a UK university, and what we would need to focus on, in our next few years at BGS. For me, this was a really eye opening and helpful experience, as now I am able to start thinking about some of the things she said and even start doing them to help me prepare for the future.
