The depth of sporting talent was on show at the Rugby School preseason tournament (Thursday 29th August), where Team BGS remained unbeaten, winning the overall tournament.
17 girls from Years 11 to the Upper Sixth represented BGS at the hockey tournament. The girls beat Hereford Cathedral School 2-0, Bloxham School 1-0, drew 0-0 with Cheltenham College, beat Austin Friars School 3-0 and St Peter’s School 2-0. They then drew 0-0 with Rugby School, which made sure they finish top of their group and then had to play a very strong Dean Close School in the final. The girls won that game 1-0, with Maddie Axford scoring the winner. It was a highly successful day, with the girls playing so well and bonding as a team.
Well done to the following players:
Year 11 - Scarlett Ames , Elizabeth Bruce, Ella Craven, Sophia Gallagher, Daisy Inman, Cerys Peppiatt, Jossy Young and Georgia Wright
Lower Sixth – Maddie Axford, Emily Dunning, Breeanne Peer-Bonsu and Holly Smith
Upper Sixth - Alice Baker, Vicky Brakenbury, Katie Lunn, Christine Pearson and Emily Ratcliffe.
