Miss Coote (Year 3 Teacher)

Year 3 were thrilled to welcome parents in on Wednesday morning for our first Reading Breakfast of the year. The parents were given the opportunity to join Year 3 in the Junior School Library, surrounded by a carefully curated selection of books supplied by Mrs Jhall (Senior LRC Assistant). They could listen to the girls read, read aloud to children themselves if they felt confident to do so, and enjoy a positive collective experience. It was also an opportunity for the parents to experience how a Guided Reading Group works in Year 3 at BGS.

It is so important for children to grow up in an environment that fosters a positive relationship towards reading and, by inviting the parents in, we aim to model that reading is a positive and pleasurable experience, enjoyed by people of all ages. We had a fabulous time and are already looking forward to our next Reading Breakfast in November.
