On Wednesday 11th September, the U11A team shone at the Laxton Invitational tournament. The girls showed true grit and determination throughout the group stage matches, winning one and drawing two. This resulted in a semi-final fixture against Witham Hall. The girls showed some outstanding play, passing the ball accurately and quickly. In a very close match, the girls won on penalty shuffles, scoring 3 out of 3. With great excitement, the girls competed against Foremark Hall. They put in a strong performance, losing 1-0. What a fantastic team effort and a great way to start the term – well done!

Saturday saw around 230 girls representing BGS in the morning and afternoon ranging from players from the First Team to the U10s. It was impressive to see so many new U10s and U12s representing the school for the first time, we were able to cater for all different hockey abilities.

The U10Bs played their first hockey match of the season against Witham Hall. The team arrived with excitement and energy ready for their first game. The girls represented BGS with determination and bundles of enthusiasm. The match was a great learning experience and fun enjoyed by all. We now look forward to the upcoming fixtures and seeing all our U10 hockey players represent BGS this season!

We would still love to see more girls coming to co-curricular hockey practices, especially all the new girls. Please come and see Mr Mason-Mcleod (Head of Hockey) - it is never too late to join.
