Mrs Schofield (Head of Year 4)
Year 4 have been working hard through their Transdisciplinary theme of How We Express Ourselves. They have enjoyed visits from parents and watched videos of children, following religious rituals and celebrating festivals. They also had a wonderful day learning about Hindu rituals and traditions.
The girls have benefitted enormously from these first hand experiences, and it has helped them build a better understanding of how different cultures express their beliefs, and the purpose of their traditions. In the latter part of this half term, the girls were placed in groups and have selected a story to act out from their chosen religion.
To bring their stories to life, the girls have designed and made puppets with moving parts to act out the stories. This has proven to be an exciting experience, in which the girls have worked collaboratively to make their puppets and show their stories in a knowledgeable and respectful way. They have rehearsed their stories ready for their Celebration of Learning Assembly, and cannot wait to share with their parents what they have learned and show their wonderful puppet creations!
