From producing vital PPE for workers on the frontline to helping your neighbours in need with a smile of support, our inspirational #BGSCommunity are committed and proud to support local communities, charities, the NHS, Key Workers and vulnerable.

The newly formed GLG have launched their unifying campaign, One Smile. Head Girl, Leigh-Ann Cudjoe said: “Over the past weeks, we have already seen how acts of kindness can help those struggling. With girls creating supplies to give to Key Workers, to show appreciation. We will now be working hard across the school to develop programmes and activities to support our theme and to create smiles at every opportunity.”

Skilled seamstress, Mrs Marsh (Mathematics teacher), has been busy producing scrub sets for Milton Keynes surgeries and Bedford Hospital. Usual suppliers of scrubs are still trying to keep up with orders, Mrs Marsh said: “It is so inspiring to see everyone wanting to do their bit, however big or small.”

Our Year 3 students have continued to keep in touch with Salvete Care Home in Bedford by sending pictures and positive messages to the residents. We hope their inspirational messages put a big smile on their faces. View the some of the messages here.

Sreeya Daruri (Year 10) and her family’s restaurant, Urban Dhaba, have been delivering Indian cuisine to NHS staff on the frontline. As a small business in the heart of Milton Keynes, it great to see Sreeya’s family providing happiness through tasty and nutritious food. Sreeya also designed a thanking you card for the NHS and frontline workers, view here.
