Senior School House

Mrs Axford (Assistant Head)

Heads of House and enthusiastic Year 8 students came together on Thursday morning for the annual House penalty competition.

Held at the astro turf pitches outside the Assembly Hall, the atmosphere was electric with students cheering on their respective Houses. Everyone in the year took part with the Year 8s in each House trying to score past the Head of House from the opposing team.

The draw was pulled out of a hat and the results in the first round were as follows:

Franklin beat Parks 6-1

Austen beat Nightingale 4-3

Chanel beat Hepburn 3-2

In the second round:

Parks beat Nightingale 5-2

Franklin beat Chanel 4-1

Austen beat Hepburn 7-6

Austen ended up as winners, victorious in both their matches and scoring 11 goals with Franklin also unbeaten in 2nd place scoring 10 goals. Hepburn were a little unlucky to finish in 5th place, losing by a single goal in both of their matches.

Goal of the Day went to Amillie Green, who stepped up to take the final shot for Austen knowing that the score at that moment was 6-6 vs Hepburn. Amillie, as cool as a cucumber, proceeded to bury the ball in the top left hand corner with a breath-taking shot, which gave Mr Jeffreys (Head of Hepburn) no chance to make a save. This clinched the victory and left the whole of Austen House absolutely ecstatic!
