Mrs Copp (Deputy Head of Junior School)

In celebration of and creating awareness for the European Day of Languages, the Junior School girls made mini-me’s to depict the diversity in the school and researched a language of their choice, or a language spoken in their home. They made speech bubbles with messages of ‘hello’ or a statement about themselves, which are beautifully displayed in the Junior School.

Throughout the Unit of Inquiry exploring the idea that People use different forms of expression to convey societal issues and personal values through visual arts, 6BC have also been investigating items in the news and tracking down where events are happening; this is raising global awareness and developing international mindedness. It has also provoked questions about societal issues, informing understanding and challenging their perspectives on world news.
