We are very excited to introduce a new member of the BGS family, Malteser the chocolate Labrador.
Malteser joined Mrs Gibson’s family before Christmas. So far, he has been supervising the fields at BGS and chasing lost balls around the playground! When things are back to ‘normal’ he looks forward to meeting you all.
We would love to see your pets, send your photos to [email protected] – we will share them with our community. Next week we will be featuring Mrs Howe’s (Head of the Junior School) new puppy, Danny the Cocker Spaniel.
The Edit had the chance to interview Malteser and Mrs Gibson, read it below.
How old is Malteser?
He is 4 months old.
How did you come up with his name?
My children named him, before we even bought him, so we have had the name for about a year now! We knew we wanted a chocolate Labrador so wanted a chocolatey name. Maltesers are my sons’ favourite chocolates, so it was an easy choice!
What is the most rewarding thing about being a pet owner?
The cuddles! And also, it is really lovely to get an excited welcome home from him when you get in.
What’s the naughtiest thing Malteser has done?
Oh, lots of things! He’s still not completely house trained yet, so we have to clear up lots of accidents. He likes to eat my coat and dresses when I am trying to leave the house. Maybe he doesn’t want me to leave? He has eaten a stone and lots of other things he shouldn’t, but he is so cute that we forgive him everything!
A few questions for Malteser…
Describe your perfect day?
I like to wake up early to get lots of love and attention from my family. I really like to go out on walks now that I am allowed to. I like to go to the park with the small people in my family. They also play with me in the garden throwing balls for me and running around - they are fun to chase, especially when they are playing football! I like to walk around BGS - it is very quiet at the moment, but I am told it has lots of people usually, which will be exciting! At night I like to snuggle in the sitting room whilst the bigger people in my family watch TV. As I am still quite little I also like to sleep a lot in my kennel next to the radiator, which is lovely and warm.
What’s your favourite treat?
I love food! I have special puppy treats, but another treat is having my belly tickled - such fun.
What are your key attributes?
Bold, Imaginative and Reflective, of course! Oh, and I hear that I am quite cute.
