If ever we all need some words of encouragement it's now. Our Year 7 students have penned beautiful poems that help put everything into perspective.
Mrs Cruse (Head of Years 7 and 8) reflected: “Mrs Lugsden (Senior Tutor Years 7 and 8) and I along with all the tutors are regularly checking in with all the girls in Years 7 and 8 to see how they are feeling during the third national lockdown.
“Every day the girls meet with their tutors and Mrs Lugsden and I send them an inspirational quote to set them up for the day. This week in their assembly they listened to the poem Lucy’s Lockdown by Chris Duke and were asked to be creative and write their own lockdown poem or piece of creative writing. These reflections help to give us an insight of how they are feeling and also how they perceive the latest lockdown and the pandemic. Over the next few weeks we hope to be able to share with you some of the poems the girls have been writing. The students are also trying to write their own inspirational quotes to try and motivate and inspire our own community. We are very proud of all the students for showing resilience and adapting so well to remote learning.”
