We are delighted to announce that BGS has been recognised for a third time as an Apple Distinguished School (ADS) for its extensive use of Apple technology in the curriculum.
The award is achieved by only a handful of schools in the country who show exceptional innovation, leadership and educational excellence, and demonstrate a clear vision of exemplary learning environments.
BGS has had a one-to-one iPad programme in place since 2012 and was one of the first schools in the country to recognise the crucial role that mobile technology can play in forward-thinking teaching and learning.
Mr Potter (Director of Digital Strategy) reflected: “Only a select few schools in the world are awarded the Apple Distinguished Schools recognition. We are pleased that our innovative approach to using technology in our learning and teaching has been highlighted by a company like Apple, who pride themselves in pushing the boundaries of technology.
“Another key factor in BGS being awarded ADS status for the third time is that we have continued to innovate and use the latest technology available to us. We have introduced immersive and personalised technology in the form of AR, VR, robotics and AI, tools which will play a huge role in our lives in the future. We believe that giving access to these tools four our students now will give them a huge advantage as they move through their education and into their professional lives.”
