Mrs Martin (Head of Year 3)

On Monday afternoon, Year 3 went on an investigatory hunt around Bedford to see if they could find clues as to how significant events and individuals are remembered in their local community. It was so fulfilling to be able to use our local environment to pursue their inquiry and a great opportunity to begin our study into how the past has an impact on the present.

The girls showed themselves to be real inquirers with the questions they were asking and we were able to establish the difference between a monument and a statue through the many examples that we discovered.

The girls will now use their knowledge to investigate significant individuals and events and think about why they are important to us to remember.
