The BGS 1ST X travelled to Lady Eleanor Holles School (LEH) on Thursday 18th November to compete in the South Schools Invitational Lacrosse Tournament.

Competing against some of the top lacrosse schools in the country, the team knew that the opposition throughout the day was going to be extremely challenging. However, BGS showed their resilience and had some outstanding performances against Berkhamsted, Down House, St Paul’s and Benenden, where games were narrowly lost by a goal or two.

Kierra Saloma (Lower Sixth) continued to demonstrate what a class act she is in goal and once again had another superb tournament. Her steady and level-headed approach filters a huge amount of confidence through the team, and it was Georgina Wright (Upper Sixth) who was awarded Most Valuable Player for her sterling efforts in defence.

A huge well done to all the students who all put fantastic performances. We are excited as we move ever closer to the Lacrosse term in January and the pinnacle of the season, The National Schools Lacrosse Tournament, taking place in March 2022.

Team: Kierra Saloma, Amy Kneller, Freya Arnold, Georgina Wright, Tash Miller, Amy Hall, Meg Howlett, Mya Lakhan, Scarlett Stokes, Ella Mathews, Ella Craven, Emily Perry, Ellie Castell and Anna Mathew.
