Whole School Alumnae

A huge welcome back to BGS alumna, Laura English (2017), who will be supporting the Marketing and Alumnae Department in the delivery of events to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Bedford Girls’ School.

Following BGS, Laura studied BSc Marketing and Management at the University of Sussex obtaining a 1st Classification, followed by an online MSc within International Marketing.

As a Marketing Intern, Laura will be playing an integral part in supporting and planning key 10-year celebratory events including a heritage week, an Alumnae and Student Art Show and a whole school Culture Fest, which will showcase the diversity of our community.

Laura reflected on her new role: “As an alumna and having attended a plethora of events held by BGS, I understand the significance and the preparations I will be involved in will have on not only the attendees, students and alumnae, but also the wider community. I admire the emphasis BGS places on cultural capital and understand the importance of our school’s heritage. The celebration of 10 years, will showcase the diversity of the school’s community and will highlight so many of the student’s wonderful achievements. The opportunity to work within the Marketing and Alumnae Department in the delivery of these events allows me to give back to the very community, which developed me into the person I am today whilst allowing me the opportunity to progress towards my personal career goals.”

We are exceptionally keen to have parents/guardians involved in helping us arrange and run our Culture Fest on Saturday 2nd July. We kindly ask that any parent/guardian who would like to be involved or who can offer support in any way, completes this form briefly outlining how you would be happy to help. We will be putting together working groups composed of staff, students, parents and other members of our wider community over the next few weeks.
