Mrs Lang (Drama Teacher and Head of PSHE)
Rehearsals are well underway for the upcoming Year 9 performance of Macbeth; a boldly imaginative retelling of this classic Shakespeare tale of murderous ambition and the corrupting thirst for power.
Inspired by the industrial music of the 90s and the earlier punk era, we have transported the dark and twisted world of 11th century Scotland to a contemporary setting, emphasising the eternal nature of this dark underworld. Continuing the department’s drive to develop technical expertise alongside acting, we are pleased to have members of our Year 9 Theatre Crew taking on specific design roles to deepen their understanding of theatre conventions and their application to realise an original artistic concept.
A year in the making, having had to be postponed last year, the cast are eager to finally perform for their peers and parents and cannot wait to welcome you to the production in our Studio Theatre on Thursday 10th and Friday 11th of February.
Information on how to book tickets will be sent out shortly.
