Our budding Junior School mathematicians are getting ready to rock with their times tables!

Years 3 and 4 are preparing themselves for the forthcoming Harpur Trust Rockout 2022 competition by regular practice of their tables through the engaging Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS) app. At the beginning of February, the girls will be competing online against Bedford School and Bedford Modern School for the coveted Times Tables Rock Out crown.

Years 5 and 6 will be taking part in a friendly competition in the form of a Battle of the Bands Tournament via the TTRS app. The girls will compete to be Top of the Rocks in this fun tournament. The tournament will take place from 8:25am Monday 24th January to 7pm Thursday 27th January.

Mrs Copp, who is the Deputy Head (Junior School) and Maths Coordinator said: “This is an opportunity for the students to just have fun with mathematics, flex their times tables’ muscles and compete in the spirit of friendliness against other students across the Harpur Trust schools.”

The small but growing company who created Times Tables Rock Stars, The Maths Circle, is co-owned alumna Nicola Reddy (née Oakley, BHS 1999) and over 1/5th of her team are alumnae: Sarah Parrish (BGS 2014), Tor Caldwell (BGS 2015) and Natalia Baker (née Reddy, DAHS 2001).
