Mrs Axford (Assistant Head)
There were 32 different House competitions throughout the year. Through the Winter months, House Drama, House Talent, House Ergo, Design a Hijab, Welly Throwing and a Times Table Bee were some of the competitions that featured.
The focus this Summer Term has been on getting outside and enjoying some of the many sporting competitions, with House Cricket, House Rowing, House Tennis and Junior and Senior Sports Days. There have also been Sunflower Growing competitions and for Engineering Week a Spaghetti Tower Building competition.
The atmosphere in the whole school house assembly yesterday was one of unmitigated joy right from Year 3 up to and including the sixth form. The last face to face summer House assembly with the whole school in the same venue was pre-pandemic in July 2019. Three years on, it is very clear the House System is still providing BGS students and staff with healthy competition and a vertical community from Years 3 to Upper Sixth that each student strongly identifies with. The atmosphere was electric when the final results were announced
