Mrs Cruse (Head of Years 7 and 8)
On Wednesday, our Year 7 students enjoyed a fun filled day at Wells-next-the-Sea in Norfolk.
During the coach journey, the students and staff had a rendition of Sweet Caroline and there was lots of laughter and chatter. On arrival at the beach, we set the students a sand castle building competition. We had all sorts of creations built, one included a seat for teachers to sit in, which Mrs Lugsden (Head of Art and Textiles) found very comfortable, another group built a slide down the sand dunes and each group had a story to tell behind their creation.
We had kites flying and games being played; it was the perfect way to get to know one another. We then walked to the harbour where our fish and chip supper was waiting and we had a visit to the Rock shop and an ice cream before we headed back to BGS.
Serena Hirani (Year 7) said: “Going to the seaside was so much fun because we got to meet new people, build sand castles, have ice cream and lots more. I really enjoyed it and I would definitely go back there again. We even had a sandcastle competition where people built incredible structures. We all had a great time with our friends and admired the lovely sunshine together.”
Tamara Senouni (Year 7) said: “I loved Wells-next-the-Sea! It was so fun socialising with all our friends. The sandcastle building competition was one of many highlights, even though I spent almost the whole time at the beach doing it!”
