Last Friday, the Junior School had a wonderful afternoon, celebrating the King's Coronation on our lovely lawns. It was a truly memorable event filled with joy, laughter, and a sense of community.
One of the highlights of the day was the union jack flag face painting activity, led by our talented team of Mrs Inkson, Mrs Whomsley, Miss Kidd, and Mrs Kelly. They worked their magic, adorning the children's faces with vibrant colours and the iconic flags and bunting.
Another fun-filled game that brought smiles to everyone's faces was "Throw the hoop round the corgi." Mrs Button and Mrs Baker organised this exciting activity, where children eagerly aimed to toss hoops around the adorable corgi targets. It was a hotly fought contest, with Mrs Baker coming close to a win herself!
With the guidance of Mrs Copp, Mrs Woodhouse and Mrs Thomas, the ‘decorate your own biscuit’ was a huge success. The colourful icing, sprinkles, and edible decorations transformed rich tea biscuits into works of art that were immediately eaten! The children swiftly moved along to the biscuits and drinks that were kindly served by Snr Galvez, Miss Choudhury and Mrs Dagger.
Miss Alarcon and Mrs Howard facilitated decorating the crowns, where children used glitter, gems, and various craft materials to create majestic headpieces fit for a king or queen. It was amazing to witness their imaginative designs and the pride they felt wearing their crowns.
To capture the memories of this occasion, our Student Voice team set up a selfie stand. The children posed with their friends and even their crown creations.
To top off the afternoon, the weather was on our side. The sun graced us and miraculously, the rain kept away, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the festivities. It was an afternoon that brought the whole Junior School Community together and was great fun!
