By Mrs Cruse (Head of Year)
On Wednesday afternoon, our Year 7 students and staff embarked on a thrilling visit to Warwick Castle, marking a truly memorable end-of-year trip.
The castle stood grandly amidst the radiant sunshine. As the students approached, they were warmly welcomed by none other than Elizabeth I herself. Throughout their visit, the year group delved into the intricacies of warfare during the Medieval period, gaining insights into why swords were bestowed upon only a select few soldiers.
We enjoyed picnics while being captivated by a mesmerising falconry display. Our exploration led us to the state rooms of the castle, where we admired their grandeur. As we strolled along the ramparts, we enjoyed the panoramic views.
The day ended with a joust which skilfully narrated the tale of the Wars of the Roses. A spirited atmosphere enveloped our Year group, with some chanting for the white rose and others passionately supporting the red rose team. It was a truly memorable day, filled with joy and camaraderie.
Elaina (7RMF) said: “Going to Warwick Castle was an amazing experience! There were so many things to get involved with throughout the day! My favourite bit was the jousting, the sight of the towering horses in action created an atmosphere filled with endless possibilities.”
Serena (7CAB) added: “Warwick Castle was so much fun! We experienced many new things such as climbing the castle, watching jousting and watching the bird show! We even had a yummy ice cream treat! I really enjoyed going to Warwick Castle and hope to do more trips like this again.”
Ella (7CCB): reflected: “I thought it was really good, especially the birds of prey show. I loved how the birds swooped over our heads and the way the whole thing was set out. Warwick Castle is a great place for a trip!”
