By Miss Alarcon (Year 4 Teacher)
On Wednesday 27th September, the Year 4 girls had the great privilege of having a career talk from Mrs Cara Burgess, a registered occupational therapist and lecturer at the University of Bedfordshire.
With the passion to help patients who might have suffered from strokes or injuries regain their mobility and independence in life, Mrs Burgess has committed her life in the field of Occupational Therapy. Now, she also works at the University of Bedfordshire and hopes to inspire many more to take her path.
The talk not only provided an opportunity for our Year 4 girls to learn more about a different career, but also linked beautifully with our current Unit of Inquiry, Who We Are as we explore the central idea Balance in our lives can promote health and well-being. Mrs Burgess gave us lots of ideas on how to lead balanced lifestyles.
We are grateful for the talented community that we are surrounded by, and look forward to welcoming more parents as guest speakers who will inspire our girls on various career choices.
