Our creative Year 6 sewing bees are making great progress using a sewing machine to appliqué the different pieces to their owl cushions.
Learning new skills such as appliqué with a bond a web fabric glue, the pupils have grown in confidence hugely using a sewing machine. Many of whom had never used a sewing machine before let alone to have the skill to sew around a range of different shapes.
The project encourages pupils to upcycle fabrics and scraps to complete their interpretation of the owl design and I hope some of the pupils will consider how they can use the skills they have learned to explore their own ideas and designs for future creative projects.
We look forward to sharing the final cushion creations with you very soon.
