By Mrs Martin (Head of Year 3)
This week, Year 3 embarked on a captivating journey into architecture, reflecting their understanding of key geographical concepts. Inspired by their recent visit to the Senior School, the girls worked in pairs to design and construct buildings that embody three core lines of inquiry: the evolution of our school's locality, exploration of settlement patterns, and factors influencing buildings and structures.
Their creations blended traditional techniques with innovative design solutions, demonstrating both continuity and innovation. From quaint village settlements to modern urban landscapes, each structure tells a unique story of adaptation and responsibility towards the environment.
Their architectural adventure not only deepened their understanding of geography and design but also fostered essential skills such as collaboration, critical thinking and problem-solving.
