On Friday 26th April, five members of Year 6 travelled to Watford to compete in the regional qualifying round of the English Schools Swimming Association (ESSA).

The freestyle team was up first, comprising Lottie Tillison, Amy Jeavons, Daisy Rees, and Izzy Morris. All the swimmers put in a great performance, making the final and qualifying BGS for a spot in the national final in June.

The next race was the medley relay. This race saw Lottie starting the team off on backstroke, then Evelyn Brown on the breaststroke, Amy on butterfly, and Izzy bringing the team home on the front crawl. Their performance in the heats and finals also earned BGS a place at the national finals.
