Monday 17th June, marks the beginning of National School Sports Week 2024, an annual event aimed at inspiring children to participate in sports for fun and encouraging them to undertake 60 minutes of physical activity each day. This is particularly pertinent this year as we enjoy a summer of sport ahead, kicking off tonight with the Euros.
We are excited to welcome several sporting guests to BGS throughout the week to share their sporting stories and careers with our students. Our guests include former England Cricket Captain, Sir Alastair Cook CBE, who will be delivering a batting masterclass; some of the original Lionesses from the 1971 Women’s World Cup; former SKY Sports Presenter, Anna Allerton (née Edwards, DAHS 2000); Swimming Olympian and motivational speaker, Kate Haywood; and former swimmer and Marketing Officer for England & Great Britain Hockey, Bronwyn Tagg (BGS 2019).
