Below Miss Stuart (MFL Teacher) summarises the recent Year 8 trip to the Côte d’Opale , France in French.

En seulement trois jours nous avons fait beaucoup d’activités intéressantes.

Le vendredi nous avons visité une ferme biologique où nous avons vu des animaux, des arbres et des plantes et nous avons fait et bu du jus de pommes.

Le samedi matin nous avons fait des courses au marché du Touquet mais malheureusement nous n’avons pas acheté de glaces. Nous avons joué un peu sur la plage. Après nous avons fait une visite d’une chocolaterie où nous avons goûté du chocolat blanc et du chocolat au lait. Nous n’avons pas choisi de goûter du chocolat noir. Le chocolat c’était très bon et la visite était informative.

Le dimanche matin nous avons quitté notre ‘manoir’ au château d’Ebblingham puis nous avons fait des courses au supermarché.

Les soirs au château nous avons joué au volley, au tennis de table, au baby-foot, nous avons fait et mangé des crêpes et nous avons goûté du fromage.  

Pendant le séjour nous avons mangé des viennoiseries au petit déjeuner, un sandwich à midi et du poisson et de la pizza au dîner. Sur le ferry nous avons mangé de la pizza dégoûtante.

Nous avons célébré l’anniversaire de Nafisa le samedi et l’anniversaire de Ella le dimanche. Nous avons chanté Joyeux anniversaire en français. Elles ont reçu une carte et un cadeau - du chocolat. Elles avaient l’air contentes.

Emilia Sammut-Alessi (Year 8) said: “I really enjoyed this trip because I feel like it was a great opportunity to practise my French and also, I really liked hanging out with my friends. My favourite part was the market because I liked how we got to go around with friends and buy cool things. Overall, this trip was really fun.”

Mayah Lalani (Year 8) added: “I enjoyed all the activities and I spoke more French than I expected. It was brilliant to learn about how chocolate and apple juice is made and I loved the market and all the different cultures and items to look at, eat, and purchase. In summary, this trip has been really fun and thank you so much for organising it.”

Clover White and Tilly Bevan (Year 8) commented: “Our favourite thing about the trip was definitely the chocolate factory as it was so cool watching and learning how the chocolate was made and of course tasting the chocolate. We also really enjoyed the market because it was really nice to see all the sorts of different things there were.”
