We are pleased to announce fantastic recent results from our co-curricular Dance and Speech and Drama departments.

It was an exciting Summer Term within our co-curricular Dance programme with our students developing their creativity ahead of their ISTD Modern and Tap examinations.

There was celebration in the Speech and Drama department at the start of this term as the latest LAMDA examination results were received. The students truly excelled and once again had fantastic successes. Following three days of LAMDA examinations from Wednesday 26th June to Friday, 28th June, students from Years 3 through to Lower Sixth have achieved outstanding results. A total of 107 students were awarded Distinctions, while 11 students received Merits.

Ms Smith (Visiting Speech and Drama Coordinator) said: “Miss Burns (Visiting Speech & Drama Teacher) and I were delighted to receive these fantastic results and read the examiners' positive comments about the students' abilities to communicate and perform. We know that preparing for these examinations requires students to have a thorough understanding of their selections. For example, a Year 3 student might confidently articulate why they enjoy a particular book, while a Sixth Form student may maturely discuss detailed, carefully researched information about all aspects of their texts, including context, form and writers. This preparation helps them build valuable cross-curricular skills.”

In total, 13 students ranging from Years 6 to 10 achieved 100% pass rate with three Distinctions, seven Merits and one pass. Congratulations to the following students: Penny Adams, Sophie Ashley, Isabela Alvarez-Custodio, Robyn Battersby, Georgia Cook, Roisin Cross, Daisy Dagger, Ivy King-Lee, Leila Lavelle, Charlie Smith, Connie Thomas, Sophie Woodward and Nyah Wooding.

Miss Bream (Dance Teacher) said: “As we reached the end of term, both Junior and Senior School students approached their ISTD Modern and Tap examinations with great commitment. I was once again thrilled by the enthusiasm and dedication they showed in their preparations. Their hard work truly paid off, as evidenced by the fantastic results they achieved.”

We would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate the students for whom this examination marked the completion of their Speech and Drama journey. All of these students received a Distinction and 30 UCAS points for their final Gold Medal examinations, and we wish them every success in their future endeavours.
