We are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of Noorie Sibia (Year 8), who has seen her work published in four different books as part of the Young Writers competition.

Noorie's most recent success came with her story Mission Catastrophe: Moments Unveiled.

When asked about her writing journey, Noorie said: “I love reading books and I also enjoy imagining and writing stories. Being a part of the Write On Club has really helped improve my writing skills and helped me achieve one of my dreams to have my stories published. I am thrilled that four of my stories and poems have been selected and published so far.

“My grandmother shared one of my poems, This is Me, with a friend of hers who was going through a difficult time with self-confidence. My poem inspired her so much that she has printed a copy and reads it each morning. This inspires me to continue writing."

Noorie’s work has captured the attention of the national writing competition for school children, Young Writers and we are delighted to see her creativity and dedication recognised. Her published pieces include:

  1. This Is Me – a poem.
  2. Swim to Freedom – a story inspired by refugee Olympian Yusra Mardini.
  3. Mandi and the Hooded Figure – a horror short story.
  4. The Day My World Ended – a catastrophic short story.

In addition to this, we have been informed that these books are kept in the British Library archives in London.

Noorie is an active member of the Write On Club at BGS, and we look forward to seeing her continued success in the future.
