By Mrs Jones (Music Teacher)
Year 3 have been enjoying an introduction to the sounds of the orchestra in their music lessons over the past two weeks. Workshops delivered by our Visiting Music Teachers have enthralled our youngest pupils, who have been offered an opportunity to learn about the orchestral families; Strings, Woodwind, Brass and Percussion.
From demonstrations and performances, to historical facts and hands on music making, Mr Arnold (percussion), Mr Goble (brass), Mrs Brazel (woodwind) and Mr Gemmell (strings) delivered exciting sessions which saw each of the students able to take part in a bit of music making at the end of each session.
Year 3 loved the sessions, Jessica from 3T said: “I liked it when we all got a turn playing on the drums. It was excellent!”
What a way to start music education! We hope you are all inspired to take up lessons and love music as much as we all do! Well done to Year 3 on excellent team work in the sessions and some fantastic questions and engagement!
