Whole School LRC

By Ms Rogers (LRC Manager)

On Thursday 6th March, the Whole School came together to join other schools, bookshops and clubs across the country to celebrate World Book Day.

This annual celebration of all thing’s literacy aims to encourage more children and families to find the fun and enjoyment in reading, because reading for pleasure changes lives.

It was wonderful to see the variety of amazing costumes on display across the school, from our Year Threes to Sixth Form and staff. Our corridors were filled with Mad Hatters, the cast of The Wizard of Oz, The Midnight Gang, and Little Miss characters. They looked fabulous.

During lunch, students were transported into Hogwarts Dining Hall, with a Harry Potter-themed lunch, followed by the LRC hosting a Teddy Bear We're Going on a Bear Hunt-themed outside play at the Junior School, and a VR fairytale experience and Dungeons & Dragons, with our resident Dragon Master Mr Stretton, adventure at the Senior School.

World Book Day is a day where we can all come together and realise the important role that books play in our lives.
