About the Role 
As Lighting and Sound Theatre Technician you will play a pivotal role in delivering technical support for all school productions, GCSE and A Level examination work, and various other events as required, ensuring high-quality and professional standards are consistently maintained.   

 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Provide all technical (lighting and sound) and staging requirements for performances and events in the Dance and Drama faculty.
  • Supervise technical candidates on the GCSE and A Level specification, currently AQA and Edexcel. This includes the preparation and delivery of work for candidates in accordance with the relevant syllabus and schemes of work.
  • Provide Media, AV and basic IT support for events including filming events as directed by the Director of Dance and Drama.  
  • Maintain equipment and assist with annual portable appliance testing of equipment and other routine equipment inspections and maintenance, including repairs of faulty/damaged equipment. 
  • Run the “Theatre Crew” activity sessions, allowing pupils to actively participate in the preparation and running of productions and events. This includes training and overseeing pupils in all aspects of technical and stage production, ensuring the correct and safe operation of equipment.

The Role involves responsibility for supporting the Head Chef in delivering a first-class food offer and service to staff and pupils. Promoting healthy eating and healthy food choices in alignment with government standards and guidelines. Food preparation and ensure that customer food allergies and intolerances are catered for and that food contamination risks in production and service are minimised or eliminated where possible through effective policies and staff training.
