Kitchen Porter/Stores Person

Start date: As soon as possible 

Term Time plus 1 week in the holidays. 30 Hours per week.  

Salary: £23,569.00 per annum, actual salary is £15,141.00 per annum.

The Role:  

An opportunity has arisen within our well-established Catering Department to join as Kitchen Porter/Stores Person. The successful candidate must be driven, focused and have the ability to work in a timely manner to manage incoming orders/deliveries, correctly store food with stock rotation and keep all food storage areas clean and tidy and to support the pot wash team. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • To manage all incoming stock orders, to correctly check in all orders, declining products if they are spoilt or long enough date. 
  • To correctly store food in the right area ensuring efficient stock rotation to reduce wastage. 
  • To communicate with chefs when putting together orders to advise on current stock levels. 
  • To ensure that all kitchen equipment is stored in the correct place to increase efficiencies within the department

About the Role: 

As a key member of our pastoral team, you’ll offer a daily point of contact for students’ wellbeing needs, helping to create a safe, supportive environment where girls can thrive. You’ll play a vital role in: 

  • Providing day-to-day support for pupils with wellbeing concerns. 
  • Manage and oversee the school’s Wellbeing Room, ensuring it is a welcoming, safe, and supportive space for students.  
  • Supporting pastoral strategy and administration in collaboration with Heads of Year. 
  • Liaising with parents and staff to ensure joined-up care for each student. 
  • Helping to improve pupil attendance and engagement. 
  • Supporting pupils through exam periods and managing the counselling appointment bookings.  

What we’re looking for: 

  • Someone with experience supporting young people (especially KS3–KS4) 
  • A compassionate communicator with strong emotional intelligence 
  • A team player who can also work independently with initiative 
  • An organiser with attention to detail and pastoral sensitivity
