For the second year running, together with students from Bedford School, the Spanish Department entered the prestigious Festival Hispano de Teatro at North London Collegiate School.

The competition continues to grow in popularity and the range of plays chosen by the 14 participating independent schools, not only reflected the wealth of Hispanic Literature, but provided an incredible opportunity for the students to immerse themselves in the culture of the Spanish language through theatre.

Eight BGS and Bedford School students joined forces to perform El Landó de Seis Caballos by Víctor Ruiz Iriarte, and an entertaining performance resulted in them winning the Best Unique Theatrical Experience category.

Mrs Gomez, Head of Spanish, said: “The boys and girls worked so hard on many an evening after school rehearsing the play. To beat schools such as Eton College, St Paul’s Girls, Dulwich College and Whitgift is a great achievement – showcasing their linguistic abilities and their commitment to language learning.”
