Mrs Schofield (Head of Year 4)

On Tuesday, our aspiring writers in Years 3 and 4 were treated to a visit from the children’s picture book author and illustrator, Tadgh Bentley.

Armed with copies of some of his books, Little Penguin gets the Hiccups, and Samson the Piranha who went to Dinner, the girls listened intently as Tadgh read one of his stories. They asked interesting questions about what it is like to be an author and illustrator, and where he gets his ideas from, and many girls were lucky enough to get their books signed.

The Year 4 girls got the opportunity to develop their creative writing skills by using the technique ‘Show me, don’t tell me’, to explore how feelings can be described in detail through movements and gestures. They all left inspired to pen their own masterpieces!
