Mr Castro (Head of Swimming)
On Saturday 17th November, 14 girls from Years 7 to the Upper Sixth travelled to the London Aquatics centre to compete in the annual Secondary Team Championships.
BGS had five teams qualifying for the event. The Junior School girls in the freestyle bettered their qualifying time by five seconds, making the final and finishing in 10th place, an improvement of 16 places on their entry ranking. In their medley the girls also made the final, again finishing in 10th place. This was a great team effort from Isabel Jackson, Eleni Zorn, Arabella Ward and Lucy Young.
The intermediate and senior girls raced very well and achieved higher places then their qualifying times. It was a great day out for the BGS Swim team and all the girls really enjoyed competing against some of the very best swimmers in the country.
