BGS will again be part this year’s SoupFest on Tuesday 27th November 2018, helping raise vital funds for a number of local charities specifically helping homeless people in Bedford.
SoupFest is an annual festival of soup, showcasing Bedford's talented chefs, and working closely with local businesses and volunteers to raise money to help the homeless. The initiative, organised by well-known Bedford businesswoman Emma Garrett (and BGS parent), was inspired by a similar event in Jersey, and last year raised over £4,500 for Bedford’s homeless.
A selection of delicious soups will be available to purchase (£3 including homemade bread) at the event which will be based in Harpur Square from 11.30am-6.00pm. BGS will also be providing two delicious soups: leek & potato (made by our students in Year 10 and using ingredients grown by our Eco Club) and a carrot, orange & coriander (made by the BGS kitchen, Green’s). The girls will also be volunteering throughout the day, serving soup and taking orders.
Why don’t you pop down for some delicious soup and enjoy the Junior School choir who will also be performing at 1.30pm in the Harpur Square.
