Mr Mason-Mcleod (Head of Hockey)

The BGS hockey teams played Kimbolton School in a local derby last Saturday, fielding 24 teams from U10D team all the way to the 1st team.

Organising 240 girls in four different venues is no easy feat and we thank all the parents helping us this hockey term ferrying your daughters around the East of England. All the teams played magnificently in very wet conditions. The BGS hockey teams won a total of 16 games, drew 3 and only lost 5 (losing 4 games only by 1 goal). Scoring 83 goals, nearly four goals per game and conceding only 31. It was the last Saturday game for the Upper Sixth and we thank them for all their hard-work over the years, with some representing the school since Year 3. The first team finished with an impressive 8-0 victory over Kimbolton School.

Final thank you to all the BGS staff and external hockey coaches for their commitment to hockey over this term, especially Mrs Sadler who has umpired numerous hockey matches and been a massive help to the PE department. We finish with U9, 10 and U11 fixtures this Saturday morning verses Stephen Perse; good luck to everyone playing.
