Junior School Trips and Excursions

Mrs Whomsley (Head of Year 5)

Last week, Year 5 experienced a whistle-stop tour of London to enhance their learning of the Grand Designs, Unit of Enquiry.

Upon arrival, the girls boarded the London Eye on a crisp winter’s morning to see the magnificent views across London against a stunning blue sky. The girls could see for miles and were able to identify the buildings and architecture they have been studying. Later that evening, they enjoyed watching a lively performance of The School of Rock.

The following day started with a trip to the Museum of London, which allowed the girls to walk through the history of London investigating many artefacts, costumes and exhibits. After a visit to the London Aquarium to look at the life cycles and different species of fish, the girls settled for a final meal together before starting their journey home.

Umaima Gulraiz shared her experience of the trip: “It was really good fun and interesting. When we were on the coaches, we could see the architecture all around us. My favourite part was the aquarium because I was able to touch a starfish!”
