BGS and The Alumnae are delighted to be supporting Project Jane over the next few months. The initiative, aimed at teenage girls, has been set up by Bedford Charity, FACES. As part of the project the charity is collecting donations of good quality prom wear – dresses (with hangers if possible), shoes and accessories - to enable local girls to attend their end of year dances and not to be prohibited by cost. Find out more about the project here.

Project Jane was set up in memory of Jane Hall (née Chandler, formerly Goodwin, BHS 1983) who sadly passed away in 2017. Outside of the school community Jane was a highly regarded member of staff at FACES, and she was instrumental in making this local charity a ground breaking and much needed resource to the local Bedford community. The work of FACES is an early year’s intervention service, offering practical and emotional support to families under stress.

Clothing for the initiative can be delivered to the Senior School until Wednesday 27th March 2019 who will arrange for it to be delivered to FACES. Any donations of unopened toiletries, including make-up and sanitary ware will also be gratefully received.
