Miss Greig (Second in Mathematics)
Over the past two weeks, mathematicians from Year 6 all the way up to the Upper Sixth have been competing for the coveted Times Table Bee competition trophies.
Almost 100 girls entered the first round, where they had to answer as many times tables as they could in one minute. Every girl who entered earned a much-valued House Point but only 20 girls made it to the final!
Girls competed in age categories with Years 6, 7 and 8 starting the show off. Serena Jacobs in Year 7 won this first round and was awarded with a trophy. Then came Grace Gaffey in Year 10, Tanya Hussain in the Upper Sixth and Mr Jeffryes, who competed in the teacher round.
It was great to see so much enthusiasm and competitiveness among the girls! Well done to everyone who entered.
