On Tuesday 11th June, the Year 10 historians headed to the Imperial War Museum at Duxford to enhance their studies of the Cold War, investigating why it evolved between USA and the USSR. The students also had the opportunity to explore permanent exhibitions of World War I and WWI.
The students also participated in a game, which examined how and why President Kennedy and Khrushchev followed the policies they did during the Cuban Missile Crisis. They had to investigate the impact the use of nuclear weapons on the 20th century world looking at why and how the development of nuclear weapons acted as a deterrent.
The girls had the opportunity to see US spy planes used during the Cold War and planes, which were used during the Berlin airlift.
