On Sunday 2nd August, 47 eager and enthusiastic pupils travelled to the La Rive campsite in Biscarrosse for the Rockley trip. Situated on the sandy shores of Lac Cazeaux, La Rive is famed for beautiful beach campsite and fantastic array of watersports.
Designed to give the girls an over-riding sense of adventure and achievement, the trip is action packed and fun.
Rockley Adventure’s own private channel offers safe access to the lake where, throughout the week, the girls enjoyed activities including sailing (catamaran and dinghy), windsurfing, trail biking, kayaking and the challenge of a high ropes course.
By far the most satisfying part of the trip was seeing students pushing each other and immersing themselves in activities outside their comfort zone
Lara Aellen (now in Year 8) reflected on the trip, she said: “Spending a week out on the water with my friends was a really fun experience. I will take so many new skills from the trip, like cooperating in a team, learning from your mistakes and not giving up, as well as all the water sports we learnt to do. Overall La Rive is a great opportunity to build confidence, have fun and spend time with your friends.”
