Miss Dawson Biology Teacher (CAS & Service Coordinator)
This year, the Service Team have chosen to donate our Harvest collection to FACES (Family and Children's Early-help Services), our school charity for this academic year.
FACES supports local children and families faced with difficult issues such as mental and physical health, domestic abuse, poverty, child sexual exploitation and behavioural issues via a range of quality-tested services and family support groups, many led by the team of dedicated volunteers.
The collection will run for the two weeks after half term (4th – 15th November). The charity have provided the school with a list of items. These items will be made up into food parcels to be distributed to families living in poverty in Bedford. Last year almost 800 items were donated to the SMART Prebend Centre, so it would fantastic if we could exceed that number this year. Items can be placed into boxes by the Staff Room. The list of suggested items to donate are:
Cereal
Pasta/Rice
Pasta Sauce
Tins – Beans, Spaghetti, Tomatoes etc
Biscuits
Cooking Sauces (Sweet/Sour, Chilli etc.)
Teabags/Coffee
Sugar
Toilet Rolls
