BGS and the wider community are delighted to announce that Dame Alice Harpur School alumna Sarah Turner (née Bolster, DAHS 1998), has been awarded the prestigious Wool Innovation Prize for her work with British wool.

Sarah, who also featured on BBC’s hugely popular Countryfile in June 2019, launched Little Beau Sheep in 2015. The company celebrates the best of British wool through a unique range of hand-made laundry and body care products. From signature wool laundry dryer balls to felted wool soaps and laundry fragrance, the collection offers an innovative eco-friendly take on everyday cleaning tasks.

Sarah was presented the award on Monday 21st October at The Worshipful Company of Woolmen’s annual Civic Dinner in London. The Wool Innovation Prize is an annual award available to the individual who shows the most innovative use of wool in any commercially viable application.

Sarah said: “This marks the start of a very exciting journey. This prize will allow me to further the work I have begun using British Wools and to help me develop machinery to automate the production of my laundry products. This will allow me to develop and grow the business to keep up with increased demand.”
