We are delighted to announce that Emily Crossland (Year 11) has successfully passed the English Cricket Board Young Leaders Award.
Emily was invited to a special ceremony on Sunday 13th October at the Home of Cricket, Lords, and was presented her award by England cricketer Max Holden and Australia’s Nick Buchanan. After the ceremony she was given the tour of the grounds.
To achieve the award over the past few months, Emily had to undertake and pass courses in Umpiring, Scoring, Grounds Keeping, First Aid and Coaching. She also was required to undertake a minimum of 25 volunteer hours where she helped coach the All Stars children (5-8 age group) in learning to play cricket at her cricket club.
As a qualified Young Leader, Emily will continue to volunteer at her club in all aspects of the game when she is not playing matches herself.
