The BGS U13 and 14 netballers performed brilliantly last week, showing remarkable optimism, resilience and togetherness across regional competitions.

On Wednesday 20th November, the U14 A and B teams competed in the County and Plate Competitions, respectively at Bedford Academy. The U14 A team played a total of seven games across the afternoon. BGS started slowly, drawing their first game of the day. However, the netballers found their rhythm after this game, winning every game in the group. BGS competed against Samuel Whitbread Academy in the final. Carrying their good form throughout the competition, BGS won 13-10. A total of 88 goals were scored and no games were conceded!

In the Plate Competition, the U14 B team played four games in their pool, losing only one game to Samuel Whitbread Academy by one goal. This placed them second in their group, competing against Samuel Whitbread Academy in the final. After a fairly contested game, BGS were victorious winning 3-2.

On Friday 22nd November, BGS entered five teams in the highly competitive District Competition. There was a mixture of results from all teams, with encouraging and spirited performances. The A and D teams made it to the semi-finals. The A team dominated the semi-final against Goldington Academy with a technical and skilful performance, winning 9-2. Meanwhile, the D team lost to Bedford Modern School (BMS) in the other semi-final. This resulted in a final with the BGS A team competing against BMS. BGS exposed some weaknesses from the opposition, winning 9-3 and becoming District Champions.
