Mrs Button (Year 5 teacher)
On Monday, Year 5 visited the National Space Centre in Leicester as a stunning start to their How the World Works topic.
The girls enjoyed visiting the various galleries, where they were able to find out about the Solar System, the space race, and see space artefacts such as a moon rock and actual rocket segments and satellites that have been to space.
A real highlight for the girls was the Astronaut show in the Planetarium where they found out how astronauts train for space conditions and the affects space has on the human body.
Isobel Kerr, 5B, said: “I was really impressed by the size of rocket engines as shown by the scale model with a park bench beside it.”
