Miss Bruce (Director of Rowing)
Over the past couple of weeks, the girls have been fully engaged with a new form of training, they have been logging onto Google Meet to join in with virtual circuit/body weight sessions lead by the rowing team coaches.
These sessions have proven to be an amazing way to say connected and active throughout lockdown! Along with different types of exciting sessions, they have included some tough challenges, which have been keeping the girls competitive.
At BGS rowing, the time has come to get our boat lights out for our after school sessions and with the light quickly fading away, the girls have the extra task of remembering where the edge of the bank is. We are so lucky to be able to continue with our water sessions during the week unlike all of our local clubs, it really gives the girls the time to wind down and switch off whilst out of the water.
During Lockdown we have replaced our regular Saturday sessions with virtual circuit classes which have been offered not only to the whole boat club but to the with the rest of the Senior School to encourage us all to keep training together. It has been lovely to see many familiar faces on our screens. We will continue to run online sessions until Saturday sport returns back to normal.
